7881 Sandholdt Rd. Moss Landing CA. 95039 530.778.3444 This is whale watching and special charters the way they should be. We limit passengers to 75% of our boat's capacity for a quality experience. Our vessel Sanctuary is sparkling clean, with a nice snack bar (hot & cold drinks and snack foods) and a rest room that is fresh and smells great. Our charming and talented crew treats you well, as cohorts in adventure. Our goal is to engage, educate & enchant, and we do it very well. We have whales and dolphins year-round on the Monterey Bay. Spring gives us humpback whales as they arrive from the south, and gray whales as they migrate north. (We were featured in the National Geographic documentary "Whale Attack," which recreated our Mother's Day 2004 cruise when orcas attacked gray whales.) Summer into fall, we have blue whales long with the humpbacks. In winter, we see California gray whales as they migrate south to Baja from their feeding grounds, then north as they head to Alaska and their summer feeding grounds. All year we see orcas (killer whales, which are actually the largest of the dolphins), as well as many other species of dolphins. We depart from Moss Landing, halfway between Santa Cruz and Monterey, a wonderful little fishing village with great seafood restaurants, the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, Moss Landing Marine Labs and cool lodging such as Captain's Inn (B&B) and the KOA located next to our harbor. Our cruises are 4-5 hours long and very reasonably priced. Kids get to take a turn at the wheel and just about everyone steps off the boat with a happy heart.
