The Stagnaro family has been serving the Santa Cruz area for over a century when Italian Patriarch Cottardo Stagnaro settled in Santa Cruz in 1879. Santa Cruz Whale Watching was created by Stagnaro Charter Boats, a historical landmark business in Santa Cruz for over 100 years. While sustainable fishing is still a significant source of our livelihood, eco-friendly tourism and public access to the Sanctuary to promote conservation and awareness of our sensitive marine environment has become a focal point. For the past five years we have been involved in changing our “look” both physically and conceptually. Our new year-round wildlife tours focuses on eco-friendly Marine Life Excursions. Santa Cruz Whale Watching, with our new state of the art passenger yacht, provides fully narrated, fun and educational trips on the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
